Piper's British Corner is located on Main Street, in downtown New Port Richey.

This business was originally started by Anne, around 20 years ago on Madison Avenue. She had to close down due to ill health.

Piper's British Corner opened up in that little shop, and then progressed to a larger area, in the same plaza. Then a couple of months ago, moved to the new location in the strip mall, next to River Road, New Port Richey.

Hubby and I went there and the restaurant/shop was closed. It stated that it would be reopening and gave us a date. So we headed there, and the owner told us that he had been so busy, that he closed the restaurant for several days to get sorted out. He was too busy that day to talk to me, so I suggested phoning him, and coming back at his convenience.  I so wanted to go over the British food items in the shop as I cook all the time.

I phoned a fews days later, and asked when he would like to show me the new venture, after all being British I couldn't wait. We made the appointment for 10.00 a.m. on Monday 24th November. I arrived at 9.55 a.m. and noticed the large sign by the entrance to the plaza stating, "Cafe open 7 days - a.m.- p.m." with the arrow pointing to Piper's British Corner.

I tried to open the door but it was closed and locked. I then waiting until 10.05 a.m. and phoned the restaurant number. It rang for 3 minutes with no answer or answer machine. I then walked the plaza to make sure there were no other restaurants/cafes in the plaza, just in case that sign was for another one. It belonged to Piper's.

A couple came up to the door and tried to open it. The lady turned round to the guy and said that it states open for breakfast. They ended up walking away.

I waited another 10 minutes and phoned again. The same thing happened. I wrote a note to the owner stating that I had been there to keep our appointment and asked him to phone me. I finally left at 10.20 a.m.

I hadn't heard back yesterday so I phoned again this morning and the owner answered. He said that he had received my card and was planning on phoning me back. I was disappointed so didn't go back.

Through the door I read their specials:

London Broil dinner with Yorkshire pudding $13.95

Cod pieces $8.95.

Here are a couple of place you might like to try Pit Boss Bar-B-Q and Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse
