Celebrations in our house are great but for years hubby missed out on the iced birthday cake. Yes, I could make him a cake and use a sugar substitute, or buy him a plain, nothing fancy cake. A few years back we happened to see a mini sugar free iced cake in our local Super Wal-Mart. These ran around $3-$4. He wasn't greedy with them and divided them into four servings.

This week I headed to Wal-Mart, as he has a birthday on Thursday, only to be told that they no longer bake them. I was so frustrated because they were identical to the regular birthday cakes but baby ones.

I have been phoning around and now have great news, Publix do a sugar free birthday cake, in their bakery department, for $8.99. So with the growing population of diabetics you don't have to go without on special occasions. Head to your local Publix supermarket and pick up your own birthday cake. You will not be disappointed.
