Less than a week ago, San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum was found with marijuana during a traffic stop and will face charges stemming from the incident.
According to Lt. Ron Rupke of the Washington State Patrol, Lincecum was stopped at 8:23 a.m. on October 30 for speeding and had 3.3 grams of marijuana in his possession.
Lincecum was driving almost 15 mph over the 60 mph stretch of I-5 in Hazel Dell, Wash. As the pitcher rolled down his window, the trooper smelled marijuana coming from the car. When questioned about the drug, Lincecum went into the glove compartment and surrendered a pouch and a pipe.
The 2008 Cy Young winner "will be facing charges of possession of marijuana and speeding," said Lt. Rupke.
