For the second year in a row, Alameda native Jimmy Rollins won the NL Gold Glove at shortstop.
Although he spent time on the disabled list in the beginning of the season, National League managers and coaches voted Rollins the best defensive shortstop.
Rollins led the Majors with a fielding percentage of .988. Behind him with a fielding percentage of .984 was Texas Rangers’ Michael Young. Miguel Tejada of the Houston Astros was third in the Majors, second in the NL, with a fielding percentage of .983
With only seven errors committed, the Philadelphia Phillies’ shortstop also led the Majors with three other players in second place with 11 errors.
This is the second Gold Glove for Rollins.
