In his Illini debut, Alex Legion wasted no time getting into the scoring column Saturday against Detroit Mercy. The Kentucky transfer nailed a three the first time he touched the ball midway thru the first half, and finished with 6 points on 2-6 shooting. The Illini (10-1) rolled over Detroit Mercy 82-51. Bruce Weber wasn't happy with the play of starters Demetri McCamey and Mike Davis and kept them on the bench to begin the 2nd half.
Up next is the annual December "Braggin' Rights" game in St. Louis against Missouri. Illinois has won eight straight in the series.
