Kids enjoy the waterpark area at Fosco Park. Photo courtsey of the Chicago Park District.

The Chicago Park District has 26 indoor pools and 51 outdoor pools in the city. While families can go and cool off at any outdoor pool through Labor Day, indoor pools are open year-round.

Many of pools have special features including zero depth entry, ADA stairs and pool lifts. Some locations offer swim teams, water polo clubs and instructional classes for all ages.

The Portage and Washington Park pools are Olympic size.

The best part? Family swim, open swim and learn-to-swim classes for children ages 6-17 are all free.

Find a pool that fits the needs of your family.
