If your kids love Harry Potter, there's much to see in Chicago. Harry Potter: The Exhibition
runs through September 27 at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Get a first-hand look inside the famous wizard’s magical world with more than 200 authentic
artifacts from the Harry Potter films. Props, costumes, Harry’s original wand and eyeglasses
and Gryffindor™ school uniforms are just some of the items on display.
It is necessary to have a timed-entry ticket for this exhibit, in addition to the museum's
regular admission. (Due to the popularity, advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended.)
Before or after you view the items on display, check out the latest film, "Harry Potter and
the Half-Blood Prince," at the museum's Omnimax theater in IMAX. ($15 adults and seniors;
$13 children). These screenings show the film on the giant screen in 2D.
Want to feel even closer? Opening on Wednesday, July 29, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince" opens at the IMAX theater on Navy Pier. Here, viewers are treated to the first 12
minutes of the film in 3D. Due to the popularity, it's a good idea to purchase tickets in
advance. (Prices range from $14 to $17).
