A week after Universal Orlando rolled out a viral social media campaign to promote their new coaster Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and began tests on the coaster with water dummies (see my previous article on Rip Ride Rockit's progress), today Universal released the full soundtrack of selectable songs passengers can pick from during their ride experience.
Guests will make their selection once they board the coaster, using a personal touch pad mounted on the vehicle's lap bar. Each seat is equipped with individual stereo speakers blasting 90 decibels of sound taking them through the coaster, only hearing their individual song selection as the speakers are designed to drown out the sound from the other vehicles.
The full soundtrack, spanning six songs in five different genres for a total of 30 songs, is as follows:
Classic Rock/Metal
Rap/Hip-Hop
Club/Electronica
Pop/Disco
Country
In spite of the recent progress made in the preparation and promotion of Rip Ride Rockit, Universal has not yet announced an opening date. Though Theme Park Insider received a tip from a source close to Universal Orlando that the coaster was rumored to have its soft opening this past Fourth of July weekend, it never happened.
If you can't wait to ride Rip Ride Rockit at Universal, you might be satisfied with a similar experience at Disney World, the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. After you get the chance to rock out on Rip Ride Rockit, you can unwind like a rock star by staying at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort.
