He is the author of a book on baseball's unwritten rules which is due to be published by Random House in the Spring of 2010. Michael has written features for Sharks Magazine, Giants Magazine, A's Magazine, Alameda Magazine, and Oakland Magazine, and he won awards for his work with Giants Today in the San Francisco Chronicle.
