Everyone looks forward to fireworks and hot dogs on the fourth of July. This list describes the best places to be in Central Florida for the biggest celebration of the summer. Some events feature the night sky light displays that we all love, while others are daytime gatherings with food and family. Time to dive in!

#3: Red, Hot, and Boom

The mother of all July 4th celebrations in Central Florida has to be Red, Hot, and Boom in Uptown Altamonte at Crane's Roost Park. Last year's attendance was estimated at 150,000 people. Why? The main sponsor is WXXL 106.7 FM, so the fireworks are preceded by popular music acts.

This year's lineup includes:

1. We The Kings

2. Parachute

3. The Cab

4. Evan Taubenfeld

5. Hey Monday

6. Matt Nathanson

7. Carolina Liar

8. Jessie James

9. Kevin Rudolf

If you have anyone living in your home, under the age of 21, then you'd heard some of the songs these bands play. Chances are good, Mom and Dad, you've heard this music a lot, but never knew the names of the artists. Your teen or tween will love you if you take them to Red, Hot, and Boom 2009.

The music starts at 4 pm, and the fireworks are scheduled to end at 11 pm. Add in the crowds and the heat, and you've got a long day ahead. Red, Hot, and Boom is held on July 3rd, not July 4th, so if you don't have this Friday off, you may be battling a lot of rush hour traffic to get into Altamonte Springs. If you want the best show in town, however, it's worth the wait and hastle!

For more info: Visit WXXL 106.7's website for details on all the acts and a list of rules for Red, Hot, and Boom. There are no personal fireworks, cooler, or pets allowed, so plan accordingly. Uptown Altamonte's website features similar information, but with an emphasis on the venue, in contrast to the music slant of WXXL's page.
