Everyone looks forward to fireworks and hot dogs on the fourth of July. This list describes the best places to be in Central Florida for the biggest celebration of the summer. Some events feature the night sky light displays that we all love, while others are daytime gatherings with food and family. Time to dive in!

#10: Annual 4th of July Parade in Celebration

It's been a long time since I've seen a small town parade. Having lived in Chicago for a spell, I got to see a traditional July 4th parade in one of the suburbs. I was mesmerized by the fire trucks, school floats, and crowd turn out. Everyone was there dressed in their Old Navy $5 t-shirts. People were happy minkling with neighbors, helping the kids catch candy thrown by the local Shriners chapter.

I didn't think Central Florida had anything like that, until I saw the 4th of July parade in Celebration. It has all the small time charm of any midwestern parade, and it's in our backyard. This year's parade is dedicated to our troops, so it is bound to be even more patriotic and heartwarming than anything you will see on television that morning.

The parade will circle the town center and travel in part of the village area. Better plan to wake up your crew early to get a good seat. Don't forget the suncreen and beach chairs.

Celebration will also have a fireworks display in the evening. That would be a long day for any kid, so you may want to take a trip back home and rest up, if you plan to see the fireworks at 9:30 pm that night.

For more info: The parade will begin at 9 am on July 4th in the Celebration Town Center. More information about this event and others held in Celebration's Town Center can be found on the website.
