It’s hard to believe that none of the hotels in Waikiki had an infinity pool (or endless pool) until a few days ago when the Sheraton Waikiki held a grand opening for their Infinity Edge Pool and adjacent Edge of Waikiki pool bar.

The new pool is the final piece to the Sheraton Waikiki’s plan to provide guests with two pools ... a family-oriented auper pool at the Helumoa Playground which opened in December 2008 and an adults-only pool at its Infinity Edge Pool.

Infinity pools have come a long way since the beginning when you see where the pool ended  Today's infinity pools , however, are awesome.  It's very difficult to see where the pool ends and the ocean begins.

Can you tell where the ocean begins in the photo of the Sheraton Waikiki’s infinity pool pictured above?  The new pool offers unparalleled views of Waikiki Beach and is situated mere feet above the ocean level, creating a mirage effect where guests in the pool perceive the pool and ocean to seamlessly be bound into one body of water.

Just steps away, the resort’s new signature pool bar called Edge of Waikiki will offer a lively, adult-only atmosphere with “Vint-Edge” cocktails – unique local libations, and entertainment by some of Hawaii’s most famed musicians.
