This trend was populated when Michelle Obama became First Lady. Her love for sheath dresses and A line skirts was only matched by her statement necklaces. This accessorized style was a departure from most former First Ladies and made the fashion world sit up and track her every fashion move.Soon to follow were celebrities at Golden Globes. Eva Mendes topped her elegant long gown with rows of playful turquoise around her neck and was immediately proclaimed fashion success. Elizabeth Banks did the same with a glittering necklace to accentuate the feminine ruffles of her pale pink gown.
Of course what appears on the fashion mags, blogs and red carpets soon translates into a bridal trend. While I'm sure that some brides have long matched chunky necklaces with their lovely white frocks, most brides I see and know stick to the usual repertoire of dainty pearls and diamonds. Nothing wrong with that but now's a good time to break away from the crowd. This mix of tough and dainty makes your photos different. Just see all the pretty brides below. So stamp your personal touch on the big white dress with a statement necklace that shouts "Look at me!". Isn't that what we all want on our big day?

Some of Mrs Obama's favorite jewelry designers include Subversive and Erickson Beamon. Gemma Ward also does some beautifully tangled neckalces. However if you are on a budget, I have scoured Etsy to find you these pretty trinkets.
