The world was granted a chance to hear Rihanna’s side of the story in regards to what happened the night she and Chris Brown got into a physical altercation, which ended with the singer obtaining a bruised and battered face.
Rihanna was not the only one who had an interview air Friday evening. Chris Brown also participated in an interview with MTV in a special dubbed “Chris Brown: The Interview” where the singer spoke more on how the event has affected his life. Though the singer opted to keep private what took place the night of the fight, Rihanna chose to give her side of the story in full detail giving viewers a lot more than they had bargained for.
In response to Rihanna’s 20/20 interview, Chris Brown released a statement to MTV addressing the singer’s sit down with Diane Sawyer.
While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us. I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God.
Both Chris and Rihanna are gearing up to release new albums. Chris Brown’s album Graffiti is due to hit stores on December 8 while Rihanna’s Rated R LP is scheduled for a November 23 release.
