With the news of Chris Brown deciding to push up the release date for his album Graffiti paired with Usher’s set release date for his album Raymond vs. Raymond, there is need to mention that there is an impending battle on the horizon.
Both albums at this point are highly anticipated given the drama these two gentlemen have experienced this past year. Most notably, Chris Brown has been at the forefront of an ongoing drama that started when news got out that he physically assaulted then girlfriend Rihanna. Since then, Chris has been on a crusade to clean up his image that at one point was as squeaky clean as a Swarovski crystal – appearing in interviews such as the one he did on CNN’s Larry King Live.
Even through it all, Chris’s fans have remained loyal; defending his honor in comment areas on various websites and blogs, waiting patiently for the singer to make his comeback. To date, he has released an impressive video for his song “I Can Transform Ya” and has left the net buzzing after releasing the cover art for his album Graffiti.

Usher has had his share of dramas his self this year, mainly with soon-to-be-ex-wife Tameka Foster. It seems that Usher’s career seemingly took a turn for the worst after he said “I do” to Tameka setting off a barrage of hate with many questioning why he choose Tameka to carry his last name.
Talk became even more intense when the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, Tameka’s fourth. Surely, Usher was not moved by the general public’s confusion for he decided to release his album Here I Stand in 2008. The album was nowhere near as successful as his album before it, 2004’s Confessions; however, it did the job of allowing Usher to announce his new found manhood as a father as well as a husband.
Using art to imitate life, Usher has released the lead single to his forthcoming album Raymond vs. Raymond appropriately titled “Papers.” The song speaks of the sacrifices he made for a relationship that went sour and although Usher and his producer insist that the song has no relation to his current situation, it is quite clear where the inspiration came from.
Both Usher and Chris Brown have been revered for having superb dance moves paired with memorable vocals. They have also been seen as sex symbols for their chosen generations and beyond. With their past’s not being similar but holding the same cards as well as their albums that have their fans awaiting their arrivals, December 8 is clearly not the only thing these two have in common.
Whose album are you most excited for, Chris Brown's Graffiti or Usher's Raymond vs. Raymond?
