Yellowstone National Park will be open for all summer activities beginning on June 1, 2009. Although parts of the park have already been available for visitors, the whole park will be available for exploration in June.
Hiking in the spring/early summer at Yellowstone National Park is an excellent time to enjoy budding trees, newly born wildlife, and green grass. Take a hike led by a ranger, or explore on your own.

There are plenty of miles to hike in Yellowstone National Park. Be sure to check with rangers for current information on trails and grizzly activity. Take some time to read about backcountry hiking in the park to learn about permits and campsite reservations if you plan on doing more than day hikes.
As you travel to Yellowstone this summer, keep in mind there will be a lot of road construction taking place. Be sure to check the road construction schedule before you go to prepare for delays or avoid certain areas.
Be prepared by having your back pack well stocked, take plenty of warm clothes for quick changing weather, and most importantly- get out and hike!
