Here's where AIG execs stayed. You paid for it!

By now you may have heard that American International Group (AIG) has used your tax money – the money that politicians stole from you despite the American public’s outcry against the bailout – to pay for a week-long $443,000 vacation.

That’s right. While Americans are losing jobs and struggling to pay their bills, one of the major companies responsible for today's financial mess was given $85 billion, and then celebrated by wining, dining, and getting pedicures.

They get pedicures. We get stepped on... and by a company which has a telling history of civil action taken against it for payoffs and accounting fraud (for which they were fined more than a billion dollars just a few years ago.)

Now, because of the bailout the American taxpayer technically has an 85% share of their company. But don’t tell AIG that: Just take a gander at their half-a-million tab from the St. Regis Resort. And remember that you paid for it! Got any pictures to show?

“They were getting their manicures, their facials, their pedicures, and their massages, while the American people were footing the bill,” protested Representative Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland) in this clip.

Was AIG punished for this? Were people fired? Did they have to give the money back, the way you might sever a teenager’s allowance if they were racking up gambling debts after you just bailed them out?

Quite the contrary! After news broke of their little party, they were given almost $40 billion more!

And that's not all! AIG was planning a second getaway, this one to the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay in CA which would rival the first bash in terms of opulence. Want to see what you were going to be paying for?

Alas, AIG has decided just hours ago to cancel this little jaunt… because of poor public opinion. I know, a real Eloi-versus-Morlock story. Cue the violins on rich AIG executives. And send in the clowns.

Meanwhile, this is happening here among the plebeians. Yes, a 90-year-old woman getting evicted from her home because she can't pay the bills, and seeing no other option but to shoot herself.

Angry? Why don’t you tell AIG what you think? You can contact their public relations guy here:
