Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel were still at the middle of the pack last week, but Osbourne displayed new confidence, in a more fun than sexy salsa routine. Osbourne hasn't danced ballroom since the first week when her Viennese waltz surprised and delighted.

The judges worried about her lack of improvement. Osbourne did well enough, but that was still in the middle of the five, ahead of Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson and Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff. Yet by ahead, there's only one point separating her and Van Amstel and those two couples.

Osbourne claimed that she no longer feels fear, but excitement about performing. Van Amstel commented that Osbourne's worst problem is being distracted by people, dogs, her cell phone.

Her foxtrot to "Mama Do" by Pixie Lott had a few bobbles and some missteps, but she kept in character.

Len Goodman said he loved the routine, but the footwork was a bit of a distraction.

Bruno Tonioli commented that Osbourne was now staying in the performance.

Carrie Ann Inaba said that it was a joy to watch Osbourne because every time she has a breakthrough the audience reacts wildly. She noted that Osbourne didn't always spot on her turns and didn't always fully extend. She threw her doll toward Tonioli at the beginning and then went to retrieve it at the end while sitting in Tonioli's lap.

Osbourne received a 8, 8, 9.

Osbourne's Latin round routine was fun. Osbourne and Van Amstel received the 1960s. With green hair and a ragdoll, they danced the jive.

Len Goodman said Osbourne had been an "absolute revelation" and that with every week Osbourne comes back stronger and stronger.

Tonioli said the routine was groovy and told Osbourne to come back to daddy.

Inaba said that despite a few missteps, it was definitely one of Osbourne's best performances.

The score was 8, 9, 9.

Mya and Dmitry Chaplin: 59
Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough: 52
Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel: 51
Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff: 50
Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson: 50

Osbourne and Van Amstel are third, but I'm guessing that Osbourne might have a greater fan base than Krupa although Derek Hough is one of the more popular professional dancers. Then the question becomes, who is more popular? Carter, Osmond or Osbourne?
