Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas did better with tango than waltz.
ABC/Adam Larkey.

When your dance teacher calls in his mother for help, you're in trouble. Melissa Joan Hart learned to keep up her "puppies" but at times lost her posture and was stiff instead of fluid as she danced with Mark Ballas to Celine Dion's "Only One Road."

If you recall, two weeks ago, Hart had a spectacular breakthrough with the Charleston for a 28 (a 10 from Bruno Tonioli), but last week, her tango was scored 23.

Hart needs great posture and control for the waltz which is slow. Wearing a silver gown with matching long gloves and a purple flower in her hair, she looked lovely.

Bruno Tonioli said it wasn't good for week six. "You looked like you were tyring to remember what you were told," he commented.

Carrie Ann Inaba said on the plus side, she did keep her puppies up. She thought that it was as if Hart was sticky and not fluid.

Len Goodman was more complimentary, saying that she had good musicality and looked elegant throughout the dance although she had problems with technique.

Hart and Ballas received 7, 7, 6 for a 20. That meant she was tied for third with Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova for the waltz. Those two couples along with Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel were at the very bottom based on the individual dance scores. With the mambo marathon, Hart moved up, but still was tied for second to the last with Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower.
