You are probably totally confused  as to what Lycra 2.0 is and how it will impact plus size fashion.  I will ask and answer my own question.  Will Lycra 2.0 Revolutionize The Plus Size Fashion World?  Yes, but it will not come quicklyor without a fight.

Here are a few reasons why Lycra 2.0 will make an impact on plus size clothing:

1. Less sewing means less fabric meaning savings to the designer, manufacturer, reseller and consumer
2. Ladies will be drawn to a garment that smooths out the look of their clothing
3. In these hard times any savings will be appreciated
4. More innovation will go into creating intimate apparel like the Lane Bryant:Back Smoothing Bra

The reason it will not come quickly is only a few months ago did the testing start onadditional fabrics like cotton.  The reason I say that there will be a fight is the same reason that manufacturers don't want to deal with plus sizes now.  Size discrimination.

I am sure there are other reasons only known to industry insiders but these are the obvious ones that come to my mind and the mind of millions of plus size women that have had to deal with the problems between mainstream fashion and the plus community.
