Alternative health 101: How do I find a qualifed homeopath in Los Angeles?
If you are sick and tired of being treated like less than a whole person by your HMO or you are just plain sick and tired it may be a good time to look into homoepathy. Los Angeles is home to a number of homeopaths including one homeopathic medical school with a low cost teaching clinic available for patients who have a need for affordable care.
Finding a qualified homeopath can be difficult because there is not a state governing board testing and licensing homeopaths in California, in this state homeopaths practice under Senate Bill SB-577 the health freedom act that allows alternative practitioners to see and treat patients. It is best to check with a national association like North American Society of Homoepaths (NASH) at www.homeopathy.org, members must have graduated from an approved homeopathic medical school and have certification from Council for Homeopathic Certification, homeopaths who have achieved this certification have a CCH after their names. Certification is not a license nor an endorsement it is a voluntary process that homeopathic practitioners follow to ensure a high standard of care.
You should always ask your practitioner about their education and background just as you would with anyone you are trusting with your health care. Your homeopath should have completed a Certificate program in homeopathy and have a C. Hom after their name or have completed a more extensive program and have a received a diploma in homeopathy and have a D. Hom after their name.
