Legendary death metal band Morbid Angel have announced a yet-untitled new album due in 2010.

Debuting one of their new songs in Colombia, entitled "Nevermore," the band presented the style in which it is assumed the album will be written.

Like the last few Morbid Angel albums, it features the offbeat-based simpler riffs in the speed metal style that are also common to the new Slayer works, like a combination of nu-metal, Pantera-style aggro-metal, and old death metal. Song structures are simpler and solos more chaotic, but are in more modes than chromatic and mixolydian.

According to the news release, the new album is "an assemblage of all sorts of stuff from the catalog and some new influences" intended to "inspire people to look deeper inside themselves for 'the stuff' and to tap that potential that we as human beings have."
