There are a lot of great things about being a waitress - you go home with cash every night, you have daily opportunities to party after work, and the harder you work the more money you make. -  Lacking this last thing is, I believe, the number two reason why people hate their jobs. (number 1? can anyone guess?)

Pumpkin Squash RavioliThe sucky thing is that you pretty much starve for 8 hours. Family meal is served at 4p or 5p, and then you serve people food and watch them eat it until midnight. When I get home at 1am, I barely have the energy to make a salad, so I use my friend Rachel's frozen trick.

Take a decent frozen meal and add tons of frozen veggies.Healthy Choice Frozen Meal

As you will find out pretty soon, my partner Tina is the true gourmet. Growing up in an Italian-American home - she has a kitchen aid which she actually uses, and she even properly pronounces things like "Mozzarelleeee". I, on the other hand, never stopped loving processed foods. I eat Kraft Mac N' Cheese at least once every other week. (And did you know it tastes even BETTER made with unsweetened soy milk? not kidding, not kidding.)

Frozen meals have a bad reputation, but I got the new Healthy Choice All Natural Entrees for $2 a piece at Target. Eating a frozen meal alone is not satisfying - there's just not enough to it. But I entreat you to try adding 1 to 1 and a half cups of quality frozen Healthy Choice plus veggies pre microwaveveggies and you will be surprisingly full. Best thing about these entrees is that they're made with real food. Listed as ingredients for their extremely delicious pumpkin squash ravioli and asparagus: pumpkin, ricotta cheese, honey, asparagus, butternut squash, apples, Chablis wine, celery and onions.... This is also a great thing to do at work - if you're trying to save money on buying out.

  •  1.) Place frozen meal on microwaveable plate.
  •  2.) Place  cup of frozen veggies next to it.
  •  3.) Sprinkle veggies with water
  •  4.) Microwave according to package directions
  •  5.) Mix everything together on your plate and eat
  •  6.) Wash frozen package container the next morning and recycle.
