The artists from deviantART know Halloween is around the corner and don't waste their time in putting their creativity to work. This image is simply a photograph, but the view and colors make it much more than just a photograph. The focus of the photograph is a dark subject and the colors compliment the subject. The bird's eye view also makes the photo more interesting instead of being taken straight on.To view more of this artist's work, you can go to her deviantART page at katiexxxbeth.deviantart.com.
Most people relate Halloween with spooky things, or spooky movies, as this image was inspired by the movie Quarantine. The artist of this piece created it using Photoshop. With the posting of the piece, he included the following passage:
"...I switched on my flashlight, and in that split second Jenny was upon me, clawing and slashing. The screaming was deafening. My light threw a horrid glare on her glazed and very dead eyes. They were red, like fire, but at the same time, they were clouded, as if with smoke. I scampered backwards as one gaunt arm slapped the flashlight from my hand where it cracked to blackness on the marble floor. In the yawning dark I waited. For a brief second there was nothingness. Then Jenny was shrieking in rage, and agony, and hatefulness, and I suddenly felt her jaws clamp down on my trachea.....fucking zombies...."
Including that not only gave the piece a bit of humor, but also gave the reader/viewer a grip on what could have been the inspiration for the artist. To view more of this artist's work, you can go to his deviantART page at UndeadCelt.deviantart.com.
The cemetery and tree in this photograph compliment each other very well. They both signify death and the dark tones of it also compliment the subject. Since there are clouds in the sky, the clouds add drama to what's going on.
The photograph may not have been intended for Halloween, but it certainly gives that impression. Scary stuff for Halloween includes death and with this photograph, you definitely get that. To view more of this artist's work, go to chamber5.deviantart.com.
This last photograph was taken simply to get a photograph of a pumpkin, but it turned out to look much cooler. With the strings of pulp in the mouth and the shadows, it gives the pumpkin a sort of spooky effect, despite the smile. The worm's eye view also makes the pumpkin more interesting, instead of again being straight on. To view more of this artist's work, you can go to her deviantART page at tdoodler.deviantart.com.
