After enjoying a dry Friday across the region, rain and thunderstorms are on the way for the 4th of July. Computer models are in good agreement on widespread rain, unfortunately, on Saturday with highs in the lower 70s. Places to the south and southwest of the metro will have the best chance at seeing thunderstorm activity. There is a slight risk of severe weather as well to the south and west of Indy, mainly for strong winds and hail. Models are indicating that rain will become scattered from 8 PM through Midnight as everything pushes off to the east. Fireworks look rather iffy at this time. Pay close attention to radar to see where the rain is headed around fireworks time.
Rain will taper off on Sunday morning and that will lead to a dry day on Sunday with partly cloudy skies and highs around 80 degrees. High pressure will bring mostly sunny skies Monday through Wednesday with increasing humidity and a warming trend!
