Ravenous Romance has entered the publishing world with an ambitious marketing strategy – publish a book a day. They were at the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in Orlando last month marketing their books and speaking with potential writers. This is publishing company interested in working with new writers who have the ability to tell a great story. But Ravenous Romance isn't interested in the typical Harlequin Romance, they're looking for sensual stories with a variety of themes.
This month they are seeking short stories for a GLBT Fairy Tales Erotic Romance Anthology. Retell your favorite fairy tales with a different slant. The stories should have an erotic element, but the focus should be on the romance and emotion between the two main characters. Of course, they wouldn't be romantic fairy tales without an HEA - Happily Ever After - ending, though HFN - Happily For Now - endings are also acceptable.
Stories should be between 3,500 and 10,000 words and keep in mind that popular fairy tells will probably have the most submissions. The editor suggests that you query in advance with a short summary so she can be sure that she's seeing a variety of different fairy tales. If you need inspiration, check Wikipedia for a list of fairy tales. Deadline for submission is May 31, 2009.
