Tonight is a great night for Coral Gables, anyone who lives nearby or the tight-budgeted college grad like me.
ART IN THE PARK
First, check out Art in the Park starting at 6 p.m. in Ponce Circle Park. This free event hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Coral Gables will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, with music by David Fernandez, Nil Lara, Conjunto Progresso and Suénalo.
For the adults in attendance, it’s happy hour until closing at midnight! Drop by the Coors Cold Zone or check out Macy’s new fall styles. Bring the kids to the Winn-Dixie Art Village for a free “Little Picassos” art lesson and then browse the work of local artists exhibiting everything from paintings to crafts and jewelry.
CORAL GABLES GALLERY NIGHT
Every first Friday of the month is Coral Gables Gallery Night from 7 to 10 p.m. Art lovers can stroll through The City Beautiful and visit more than 20 galleries open to the public and, my favorite part, buses and trolleys provide free transportation!
Click here for a piece in the Miami Herald, featuring a few of tonight’s gallery highlights.
BOOKS & BOOKS
In conjunction with Gallery Night, Books & Books is celebrating the opening of its own gallery, Sugarbabies. Then, from 7 to 11 p.m., they'll will be hosting its weekly Live Music in the Courtyard event.
