I knew he wouldn't do it.

Radio blowhard and professional liar Michael Savage has backed down from yet another threat to his critics. The other day, Savage said he would post on his Web site the pictures and "other pertinent information" of those who dare to criticize him. The act was primarily targeted to the folks at Media Matters for America, who Savage considers Stalinists.

I know, I know.

I suggested that he probably wouldn't do it, mainly because of the legal implications if one of his knuckle-dragging listeners decided to take out some revenge.

And sure enough, tonight on his program, Savage told his listeners that he would be doing something different to punish his "Stalinist" critics:

I am working with some unknown individuals, we are working on getting the tax returns for Media Matters because they are a non-profit organization and we are going to expose not only their names and their pictures, but also how much money they make for being the good Stalinists that they are.

That'll show 'em.

While you're at it, Savage, why not post the tax returns from your Paul Revere Society. You remember that, right? That's the "educational" institution that you and your son, Russell founded.

It was originally a 501(c)(3) group -- which meant that donations to it were tax deductible -- but it lost that status a few years ago. Since then, we haven't heard much about it.

Nor have we heard much about the $900,000 that was in its bank account as of the last tax return filing.

So come on Savage, like you said the other day, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Tell us why your foundation lost its tax-exempt status, and what you did with the $900,000.

And while you're at it, come clean on how you amassed that $900,000 -- that's lots of memberships at $25 a pop.

Keep the faith.
