I figured that eventually the truth would come out of Michael Savage's mouth.

You'll remember that in early May, Savage was placed on a list of people banned from entering England. The list was compiled by former British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, who has since left office. (But not because of the list, despite what Savage and his suckups assert.)

Since then, Savage has played the victim to the hilt, decrying Smith placing him on a list with murderers and terrorists, and denying him entry to the country simply for his words.

He's also filed a defamation suit, seeking an apology and $160,000 in cash. He's also said that once his name is off the list (and, presumably, has cashed the check), he would gladly go to England and speak before Parliament.

As if.

Anyway, on Monday's program, Savage seems to have changed his mind.

He was talking about a link on his Web site to a story in the London Sun, which detailed some Cambridge students getting trashed in an annual end of term ritual called "Suicide Week." (We used to have the same sort of thing at my college, Livingston College -- part of Rutgers University -- only it lasted about four days. We called it "Spring Weekend.")

So the mighty Savage seemed a little put off by the demonstration of drunkeness by these British students.

Near the end of the first hour, he said the following:

Now that I think about it, now that they've banned me, thank God. Who wants to go to that cesspool? Now that I think about it, who wants to go to a nation that's so degenerate? I used to look up to these people .... Imagine if they had to hold the battle of Britain now against the ME 109? These guys couldn't even drive a jeep over to the airfield, let alone fly a plane to defend their homeland.

"Thank God" they banned me, Savage said. Interesting.

So now that Savage is actually happy that he's been banned, will he drop the suit against Jacqui Smith? I doubt it. His British lawyers have told him he can score some gelt, so he's not about to let that pass him by.

Because if there's nothing else we know, we know that Savage is all about money and prestige.

Keep the faith.
