A call to action: Vow to go deeper
Photo by Deb Mizell - with gratitude

This is a call to action. I invite you to join me and take a vow to deepen your spirituality.

Ask yourself, is it time to stretch? Be a bit uncomfortable? Surrender to who you a truly are? Recently I have set an intention to go to a deeper level of spiritual awareness, to embrace the modern mystic and I invite you to join me on this journey. Over the next couple months I intend to walk hand-in-hand with God and deepen my spiritual walk in life. Join me to evoke your inner mystic and prepare for the ride of a lifetime.

If you accept this invitation, take it seriously. The first step is simply to commit and vow to expand your spirituality. Often, we set out to accomplish objectives and we get distracted, or priorities shift and we don’t succeed because we failed to make a commitment. When you vow or pledge to accomplish something, there is a shift. This is why the first step to deepen your spirituality is to commit to it. Take the pledge, vow to go deeper.

What moved me years ago, to explore my spirituality was a chain of serendipitous events. To go to deeper level, I think we need to revisit the threshold of where our spiritual journey began.

God whispers in your soul and speaks to your heart.
Sometimes when you don't have time to listen,
He has to throw a "brick" at you.
It's your choice: Listen to the whisper-or wait for the brick.....”
- Author Unknown

After being bombarded with the “bricks” from life, many years ago I found myself asking those tough questions like, “Who am I?” “Why am I here?” and “What is my purpose in life?” In hindsight I realized these symbolic bricks came for a reason, they were a call to action. That was the beginning of an exciting journey in which I vowed to live purposefully. It was this exploration that took me from the labs as a scientist to getting words on paper and becoming an author. While the goal – to live purposefully – has never changed, my interpretation of my purpose in life has evolved over the years as I have grown.

My journey began with the exploration of purpose and service. What I’ve learned is that when I live purposefully I am joy filled, inspired, and passionate.

What “bricks” are showing up in your life? Are they calling you to action?

As you take your pledge to go deeper, know that you are attuning to Spirit’s vision for your life. Be willing to trust, stretch, sacrifice and surrender:

  • Trust that your journey inward is a voyage of Spirit, and surrender recognizing there is only God, and your companion on this adventure is God. Anytime you are shaken by revelations, trust that God is with you and intuitively ascertain Spirit’s vision for your life. Trust that all is well, all is good and all is God.
  • Stretch and welcome the metaphorical sore muscles. Massage those aches and pains. Whenever there is growth, there is discomfort and rather than chasing away the pain, feel it, and stretch. Experience the unease and determine if there is anything that needs to be experienced, explored and released.
  • Sacrifice. As the medieval mystics made sacrifices of poverty, chastity and fasting, at times you may need to make sacrifices to enhance spiritual practices in your life. Be willing to expand your practices of meditation, visioning, or daily affirmations. Make these spiritual practices a priority in your life.
  • Surrender. Let go of expectations. Rather than visioning what you believe should evolve in your life, trust that Spirit’s vision will unfold with ease and grace for highest and best.

Join me on this walk. Commit to expanding your spiritual awareness, and invite your inner mystic to emerge. Subscribe to my articles as I will share with you my revelations, and I hope you share some of yours.

Namaste.
