Danica Patrick in a Go Daddy commercial.

With 100 million pairs of eyeballs expected to tune in on February 1, Super Bowl XLIII will be the most watched sporting event in the nation.

Advertisers are paying a record high of $3 million dollars for every 30 seconds of commercial time.

Along with the advertisers we've seen in the past--Anheuser-Busch, Audi, Go Daddy--will be at least one new face.

Pedigree, a dog food brand owned by Mars, Inc. has bought one 30-second spot. It's a first for the company, and a possible first for a dog food company to advertise during the Super Bowl.

Pedigree's commercial is being produced by TBWA/Chiat/Day, an award-winning advertising company, which has been heading up Pedigree's "Adoption Drive" campaign.

Pedigree, the third largest dog food brand in an industry that rings up $11 billion dollars per year in U.S. dog food sales, spends half of its marketing budget on promoting pet adoption. It will again be promoting adoption, not dog food, but don't expect any sad commercials at Superbowl-time. Pedigree plans to tickle your funny bone with a quirky commercial showing "what life would be like if the world didn't have dogs." Reports say to expect a "string of crazy pets..including an ostrich giving a mailman a hard time."

Go Daddy fans can vote on Danica Patrick

On a racier note, GoDaddy.com, will again feature the diminutive race car driver, Danica Patrick, in a sexy Super Bowl ad. Unlike last year, when Go Daddy was banned from airing its "beaver" commercial by the Fox network--the company has already gotten approval for the two ads it produced for this year's Super Bowl game.

Danica Patrick fans have until January 23rd to go to website Go See GoDaddy's Super Bowl Ads! to view and vote for which one of the two commercials will get aired on championship game day: the one of Danica stepping into the shower, or the one where she says she's been "enhanced."
