The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, and her eldest
daughter, Princess Beatrice.

Max, the royal dog belonging to Princess Beatrice, has gone missing. The seven year-old Norwich terrier was last spotted chasing a squirrel through Windsor Great Park in Berkshire. That was a week ago.

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, leapt to her daughter's aid and went on British radio this week. She pledged a "substantial reward" for Max's return and emphasized that "no questions will be asked."

Princess Beatrice, 20, has had Max for the past seven years and has been inconsolable since his disappearance.

"Beatrice is distraught without him and we just hope someone can come forward with some information," the Duchess said. "I as a mother would be even more grateful so Beatrice can have a happy Christmas."

Max shouldn't be too hard to spot. He's a pudgy, cream and sandy colored Norfolk terrier with two missing front teeth.

Sarah Ferguson was once married to Prince Andrew (a younger brother of Prince Charles). Their two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are cousins with Princes William and Harry. The girls are fifth and sixth in line for the British Throne, which goes like this:

1. The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles)

2. Prince William of Wales

3. Prince Harry of Wales

4. The Duke of York (Prince Andrew)

5. Princess Beatrice of York

6. Princess Eugenie of York

and on, and on...
