Doubt

What is it about doubt that is so luring? One could have the very best of intentions, set sound goals, have desires that are meant to create expansion, and feel confident in themselves and their ability to progress forward, then almost mysteriously doubt arrives, knocks on one’s [emotional] door, then takes a long stay at your [inner] home. What are the causes that create doubt as its effect? Doubt exists contrary to every good thing that a person can imagine. Once doubt is allowed to spring its energy, infecting all that you have set in motion, you have to begin again—inner inquiry leading to the changing of thoughts, and the undoing of old, unhealthy programming—this time with mindful awareness of how easy it is to forget that the sound knocking at your door is doubt. Do not answer.

Doubt takes the very thought behind one’s intention and transforms it to fear; a fear-based reality becomes one’s immediate outcome. When doubt exists it is a reminder that our intention is not rooted in freedom and expansion, but rather on some level we are fearful. Perhaps the fear is connected to one’s ability to perform an act, execute a task, handle more responsibility, or leap knowing that the net will appear… Whatever the case may be, doubt reveals to us a certain amount of not-ready-ness. One must not be ready to progress forward if they are allowing doubt to navigate their journey. There is but one place where doubt can lead you: a cycle of fear and stagnation. Although many are able to see how doubt has created more of nothing at all, it is quite interesting how quickly a person can manifest unwanted outcomes, yet doubt their ability to manifest their own good. Stagnation. Both freedom and fear exist within, both stagnation and progression, too, reside within. Where your journey leads is a matter of choice and mental focus. Wheresoever one’s thought lies, there, too, lies one’s outcome. Connection. All things are connected and the very moment a person chooses to entertain the stagnating energy of doubt, they have just opened the door that will undo that which was set in motion as an intended outcome or desire, and created instead all things that counter that intention. When we realize our power in creating the reality we choose, we can begin watching our thoughts, listening to the voices that create inner drama, chaos, and confusion, quiet them, then choose from a place of knowing, from a place of clarity and truth. This is how one begins dismantling the stagnating energy of doubt leaving that which one desires—freedom.

Whenever outcomes are not turning out as one would desire, an exercise or practice in inner inquiry can be useful. When one spends time going inward, asking oneself the questions pertaining to your thoughts, your actions, and the subtleties in between, you are able to get closer and closer to knowing. When time is spent in contemplation of doubt and one’s role in why it is being entertained, the issue of trust comes up. That is what the stagnating energy of doubt reveals to you—a mistrust in the life vibration, and in your own vibration as it connects to the whole. The useful thing about doubt is that its very presence is a warning sign. At least it’s alerting you that you have somehow, somewhere gotten off course. Get back on! Use the alert of doubt as the nudge you need to revamp your situation; to change your pattern, your default responses, your self-defeating thoughts, and so on. Until you are able to release doubt altogether, use it as your motivation to change, keeping in mind that doubt is not a friend; it is an energy that will create stagnation. Be mindful.
