Several New York newspapers were sent an email yesterday from an annonymous construction worker claiming to have worked on Citi Field.

The writer, a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan and a foreman for Hunt Construction, states he buried three Phillies jerseys beneath the Mets' new ballpark in an attempt to jinx his favorite club's rival.  The jerseys are supposedly buried beneath the fanwalk bricks, the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, and the 47 Shop near right field.

Much like everyone else, I'm not buying this, and neither should you.  In case this guy wasn't paying attention, the Mets were coughing up late-inning leads and collapsing in September before this season.  So even if there are jerseys buried beneath the field, I don't think it's going to make this franchise any more jinxed than it already is.
