Mets skipper Jerry Manuel has rounded out his coaching staff for the 2009 season, adding Luis Alicea as his first base coach Friday.  He'll replace Ken Oberkfell, who manned the position in 2008.

A 13-year veteran as a player, Alicea managed in the Boston Red Sox organization for three seasons, before coaching first base for the big club's world championship team in 2007.

He was a .260 career hitter for the Cardinals, Angels, Red Sox, Rangers and Royals, and if Mets fans had their way, they would toss him in a time machine, and bring back the 1988 version of him to play second base.
