Although she has lived in the United States for nearly 15 years, Orlando resident Ceci Livingston couldn't help but notice the difference between the product offerings for babies and toddlers in the US versus her native Sweden.

"In Sweden we were used to clean lines and functional products. Less is more, so to speak. Many Swedish families live in smaller apartments and need functional practical products to accommodate their space," said Livingston. "For example, we had never seen such big cribs as you would find in the American baby stores. The Swedish cribs are much smaller and fit easily through your door."

Together with her childhood friend Linda Johnson, Livingston started ComfyMe.com as an alternative to the baby products commonly found in American retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Target or Babies R Us.

"(Linda and I) starting talking about creating our own baby product line," said Livingston. "We talked about it for many years, but it wasn't until 2006 when I was pregnant with my third child and Linda with her first that we finally put our plan into action."

ComfyMe.com started with seven different designs for crib bedding, and over the past three years it has expanded to include other products such as bath tubs, clothing sets, diaper bags, childproofing items, keepsake gifts and European style strollers, which have sturdier wheels and the option of having the infant facing the parent who is pushing the stroller.

"Besides our own product line, we currently offer products from Trend Lab, Kolcraft, Danielle Elizabeth Designs, Babe Ease, Baby Bee Bags, Silly Souls and much more," said Livingston. "By having our own children we are constantly exploring new stores and new products. We also have a big network of mothers that we turn to with questions in regards to what they feel the market is lacking and what products they can't live without."

For parents who do find a product on ComfyMe.com that they can't live without, the turnaround time for orders is 1 - 3 business days. And with items that are decidedly more stylish and functional than the average retail baby product offerings, Livingston and Johnson believe that their Orlando-based business will appeal to parents everywhere.
