French designer Sophie Young's label g=9.8 makes amazing, sporty eco-friendly lingerie out of Lenpur®, a fabric made from white pine tree clippings. The unique company name is derived from the formula g=9.81m/s2, the figure for gravitational acceleration.
The eco-benefits of Lenpur are outstanding; no extra water is required to produce the wood scraps, and the fabric is supposedly biodegradable. g=9.8 also claims that LENPUR® offers "the comfort of silk, the feel of cashmere, and the coolness of linen. The resulting pieces acquire surprising thermal regulating and anti-stress properties."
