Starting Monday, August 3, 2009, Oprah.com members will be able to download Colum McCann’s new novel, Let the Great World Spin, for free. This book is one of O Magazine’s “25 Books of Summer”, and the free download is only available for 48 hours ending at 10:59 am ET Wednesday, August 5, 2009.

This is the first free eBook from Random House and the second on Oprah.com. The first, Heroic Measures by Jill Ciment, was offered two weeks ago from Pantheon Books.

The author Colum McCann will be taking questions from Oprah.com readers about his new book. Submit your questions online. So crank up your computers, visit Oprah.com, become a member (it’s also free) and enjoy your new eBook.

Even though the novel is free, you may still be wondering if it’s worth the space on your computer. To help you make the decision “to download” or “not to download”, here are two book reviews of Let the Great World Spin from the New York Times and The Washington Post.

Happy reading!
