So where in the world is Oprah? It’s becoming a “where’s Waldo” game – Oprah style. According to the Times of Malta, Oprah arrived on the island early yesterday morning. Earlier in the week, Oprah along with 1,600 of her employees and their families enjoyed a lavish party in Istanbul, Turkey before leaving for Malta.
It was reported that Oprah waved enthusiastically, shouted “Hi” and gave the thumbs up to journalists as she disembarked the cruise ship Norwegian Gem. She was then whisked away for a tour of the island, four hours after her staff and their families left the boat to do their own exploring.
The guests were greeted with small posters on the dock which read, “The holiday of a lifetime,” and some lucky passengers were wearing light blue commemorative t-shirts emblazoned with the words, “We sail together” including dates of the cruise. About 30 jeeps took most of the passengers away for an island safari while another three coaches took others to Mdina and other tourist areas reported the Times.
While the passengers were enjoying their day in Malta, crews boarded the ship with what looked like stage equipment. Sources said Oprah was planning a final party to take place in three days on board the ship when it is close to Barcelona, which was its point of departure. Oprah treated her entire staff and their families to the all-expenses-paid, 10-day Mediterranean cruise as a gesture of gratitude for a job well done.
