
It appears Oprah Winfrey took the media criticism to heart. The daytime diva did not ask BeBe Winans to return to her show for Oprah's Karaoke Challenge.
BeBe was traveling the country looking for the most talented karaoke singers to bring on to the Oprah Show. On Thursday, viewers got to see and hear the top eight semifinalists. The celebrity judges were Ashford and Simpson, Billy Ray Cyrus and Gladys Knight. There wasn't a BeBe to be found any where on the episode.
Last week, media outlets accused Oprah of being hypocritical for allowing BeBe on her show when she refused Chris Brown. Both men were arrested for domestic violence. Chris pleaded guilty in August and BeBe is still waiting for his day in court.
Debra Winans who was originally hurt by Oprah's decision to have her ex-husband on the show told TMZ in a statement after hearing about the BeBe ban,
It further demonstrates the fact that Oprah continues to be a strong voice against domestic violence and that she's willing to take the steps necessary to defend the defenseless."
So the show - and the karaoke challenge - must go on sans BeBe. Viewers voted for their favorite singer after Thursday's show, and the three finalists were announced on Friday. They are...
