Sasha Baron Cohen’s “Bruno” took the top spot at the box office this weekend with $30.4 million. The comedy follows Cohen’s stereotypical homosexual character across America, as he attempts to make Americans as uncomfortable as possible.

In a close second was “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” with $28.5 million. The animated family comedy and third installment of the “Ice Age” franchise follows Manny, Diego, Ellie, and her possum brothers as they journey to a strange new world beneath their own in search of their friend Sid, who has been kidnapped by a dinosaur after stealing her eggs.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” came in third with $24.2 million in its third weekend of release. The sequel finds Sam Witwicky and his girlfriend Mikaela at the center of a war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, who have returned to destroy Earth as well as their robot enemies.

The gangster drama “Public Enemies” came in fourth with $14.1 million. In this film from director Michael Mann, Johnny Depp stars as the real-life 1930s gangster John Dillinger, a bank robber who believed in living in the present, becoming a sort of folk hero to the American public in the process. In fifth place was the romantic comedy “The Proposal”, which continues to draw audiences, taking in $10.5 million in its fourth weekend of release.

Coming in sixth place was “The Hangover” with $9.9 million, then the teen comedy “I Love You Beth Cooper” with $5 million in its first weekend of release, “Up” with $4.6 million, “My Sister’s Keeper” with $4.1 million, and “The Taking of Pelham 123” with $1.6 million.
