Sasha Baron Cohen’s “Bruno” took the top spot at the box office this weekend with $30.4 million. The comedy follows Cohen’s stereotypical homosexual character across America, as he attempts to make Americans as uncomfortable as possible.
In a close second was “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” with $28.5 million. The animated family comedy and third installment of the “Ice Age” franchise follows Manny, Diego, Ellie, and her possum brothers as they journey to a strange new world beneath their own in search of their friend Sid, who has been kidnapped by a dinosaur after stealing her eggs.
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” came in third with $24.2 million in its third weekend of release. The sequel finds Sam Witwicky and his girlfriend Mikaela at the center of a war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, who have returned to destroy Earth as well as their robot enemies.
