Peltier has risen to almost legend status among "native American" activists. People from all walks of life have added to the call for Peliter to be released from prison. He holds the dubious record of being one of the longest held prisoners in the U.S.
There are some links below to learn about Leonard Peltier. The crime he is serving time for is an awful one. However, there is controversey about his involvement.
Below is the "Indie" made video.
Buggin' Malone is the Rapper you hear in the video. He is of "native American" decent. Artwork by Bunky Echohawk and Leonard Peltier Video Composition by Tim Wozny.
This is bare bones filmmaking. Whatever your belief about Peltier's part in the crime he is serving time for, this video is Indie art. Both the music and the actual clips put together to form the film.
There are a few documentaries about Leonard Peltier
All Power to the People . This documentary deals with civil rights in general, it has Peltier as one of the people featured.
Warrior: The Life of Leonard Peltier, This documentary reveals a lot about Peltier and the crime he is serving time for.

Blog by Y Heron that originally brought this video to my attention. Thank you
As always, there are two sides of every story (usually many more than that.) The "No Parole Peltier Association" has a lot to say and you can view court decisions etc.
Regardless of what side one comes down on in this story, the fact remains that yet again an Indie filmmaker has done an excellent job of stating their point to the world.
