Earlier this month, Thomas Lennon announced on his Twitter page that Reno 911 has been cancelled by Comedy Central.  However, the real city of Reno is attempting to save it.

Reno tourism officials have launched the website SaveReno911.com

While only the opening credits and interstitial sequences have actual footage from Reno, the show's popularity has been of great interest to the city, and has sparked many visitors to the Biggest Little City in the World.  The city would like to bring the show to Reno and have it shot on location.

As of August 30, the website has generated 645 signatures on its online petition, 830 fans on Facebook and more than 200 followers on Twitter.

The show took a sudden turn when original cast members Carlos Alazraqui, Wendi McClendon-Covey, and third season addition Mary Birdsong left at the end of season 5.
