SummerSlam is likely ranked as the second biggest WWE pay-per-view of the year, after WrestleMania.  However, unlike Wrestlemania which contains great spectacle and large scale feuds coming to a head, SummerSlam is generally a very well rounded card full of outstanding matches.  Upon coming up with an idea to create a worst matches list for this one was very tough.  Nevertheless, here are 10 matches that aren't bad ideas, they just don't compare to the rest of the glory that is SummerSlam.

10. Divas Battle Royal (2007)
Although there were a few decent athletes in this match, most WWE divas are nothing but a poor attempt at eye candy.  If the plan was to have gorgeous women play fighting, at least have the girls look good.

9. Jerry Lawler vs. Bret Hart (1993)
Great talent, great feud, awful execution for what should have been match of the year.  Why was Doink written into this?

8. Legion of Doom vs. Money Inc (1992)
Decent tag team match.  Unfortunately it was Hawk's subsequent behavior that led the LOD out of the WWE and into the downward spiral.  See the Road Warriors documentary for a good, sad story about this time in their careers.

7. Nailz vs. Virgil (1992)
This was the very next match on this stellar card.  But what happens when you take the two most talentless guys at the time and put them in the ring with each other?  This.

6. Austin vs. Yokozuna (1996)
The first year of the free-for-all, featuring a future main event star versus a washed up main event star.  What a terrible combination.  This is one of those matches that afterwards that makes one question, "what just happened?"

5. Matt Hardy vs. Mark Henry (2008)
Nothing like a 0:36 disqualification match during a pay-per-view to cheapen a title.  This should have happened on the Sci-fi network for free.

4. Undertaker vs. Undertaker (1994)
This card had a double main event.  Bret Hart fought Owen Hart in a steel cage title match, and then there was this travesty that ended the card.  It's like eating a bowl of delicious ice cream and then taking a bite of rotten egg at the end.

3. Diesel vs. King Mabel (1995)
Really?  Why in the world is this one is on a worst match list??  This is a perfect mid-card match!  Wait, this was the main event at SummerSlam?  Good night!

2. Sherri vs. Sapphire (1990)
Nothing like anxiously awaiting the entrance of superfan-turned-jobber Sapphire who never shows up.  And then the match ends in a forfeit.  In other words, the match never happened.  Probably better off.  The less Sapphire, the better.

1. Match Made in Heaven (1991)
Again, not really a match.  It was a showy wedding between the already married Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth.  Not that it was a bad idea, there's just something very strange about getting married to your entrance theme.
