Dennis Prager owes liberals and apology. He flat out claimed that Liberals are responsible for the murder of four Police Officers in Lakewood Washington. Dennis is heard mornings from 10 am to 1 pm on AM 960 The Patriot in Phoenix. www.kknt960.com He is syndicated through out the country, and is based in Los Angeles. At one time he was the conservative that liberals loved. He touted himself as a passionate moderate, and claimed that his search for moral clarity exceeded politics. In the early part of this decade Dennis went from local LA broadcaster to syndicated talk show host. He is syndicated by Salem Broadcasting. Salem is ran by Christian fundamentalists who believe that Israel must be preserved so that Armageddon can begin as foretold in the Bible. So much from passionate moderation.
Since his rise as a syndicated radio talk show host his views have taken on a warp that has been amazing to witness. While most decidedly on the "B" team of right wing talkers, he holds a special place as a so called voice of morality, and as a conservative Jew, he along with Michael Medved are part of a conservative ju jitsu tactic to have individuals from traditionally liberal arenas make the case that liberalism is not only bad politics but immoral and evil.
Today, Monday Nov 30th, Dennis hit a new low. He used the horrible and senseless tragedy in Lakewood Washington not only to attack his warped view of liberalism but to blame liberals and liberal policies for the murders of the four officers. While quickly and briefly pointing out that it was Mike Huckabee, former Governor of Arkansas, former Presidential hopeful,and current "Golly, I'm kinda like Gomer Pyle with a brain" weekend talk show host who commuted the alleged assailants 95 year sentence, which made him eligible for parole, he then dismissed it, and went on to attack liberals and call them out as the murderers.
Let's be clear. It was not liberals who commuted a 95 year sentence. It was not liberals, but an Arkansas judge who paroled him, and it was not liberals who bailed this man out of jail for his most recent charge of child rape. Maurice Clemons was paroled in an ultra conservative state and his sentence was commuted by a conservative Republican Governor. He was able to be bailed out by a bail bonds company that makes a profit by putting up bonds for people who can't afford to cover their bail with their own money and or property. Mr. Prager if you want to accuse anyone other than the man who pulled the trigger for the death of four people who were about their business of serving their community, you blame a right wing state, a right wing governor, and capitalism. There were no liberals involved.

Prager went on the air without all of the facts. Being uninformed has never stopped a conservative from foaming at the mouth. First and foremost, they have not found or arrested Maurice Clemmons and though fairly sure, it has not yet been fully shown that he was the shooter. Two, Dennis Prager did not even know how our bail bond system works. He spent a few minutes of his show bellowing to his producer to find out who this bail bond company was and how they could possibly bail out a suspected child rapist. Three he did not understand that these companies put up the lions share of the bond for a fee, and that tens of thousands of people use them every week, for everything form being arrested for unpaid parking tickets to murder.
Prager showed a curious lack of knowledge about how a basic part of how are justice system works. He was ignorant of the facts, those he did posses that did not fit his narrative he quickly dismissed, and then callously used these deaths to broad brush, in a biased and ignorant way, a group of people and a way of thinking he does not agree with. There used to be a term for this it was called prejudice. Dennis blames liberals the way racists blame African Americans. He makes up lies and spreads fear. He and the rest of the right wing smear machine will stop at noting to see their cohorts, minions and masters back at the helm and turning our country into a theocratic corporate money sucking machine. They will stop at nothing, even turning four tragic murders into a political football.
