At once bemoaning and celebrating the rise of contemporary society’s celebrity fascination, as well as the resulting media marvel that has become hotel heiress Paris Hilton, Iké Udé, Nigerian-born, New York-based “artist, publisher and style icon” has presented a series of paintings, sculptures and photographs in his latest exhibition at Stefan Stux Gallery in Manhattan’s Chelsea.
The Stux Gallery focuses on exhibiting “mid-career, emerging and well-established artists ranging from painting and photography to sculpture, installation, and performance artwork… work [which] shares an interest in challenging the boundaries of genre and medium, often with a deeply conceptual bent, always with an aesthetically rewarding engagement with the material and formal presentation of the work.”
Udé’s “Paris Hilton: Fantasy and Simulacrum” will be on exhibition now through January 24th. The Stux Gallery is located at 530 West 25th Street.
