"Dude, are you chewing gum at the Oscars?"

And the Oscar goes to...Slumdog Millionaire, Kate Winslet, and Sean Penn.  No surprises there.

With everyone playing it safe, from the fashion to the acceptance speeches, few moments stand out as TiVo-worthy, but this year's telecast provided a few worth rewinding.

First was Tina Fey and Steve Martin presenting the writing awards...and blatantly skewering Scientology in the most transparent crazy-religion reference ever.  Bravo. (Sorry for the poor quality video)

Next was during the presentation of Best Supporting Actor, when Alan Arkin referred to one of the nominees as "Seymour Philip Hoffman."  No teleprompter? Been living in a cave for the past few years?

Then there was Ben Stiller making fun of crazy person Joaquin Phoenix, while wearing an outfit that co-presenter Natalie Portman described as belonging in a "hasidic meth lab."

Last was Sean Penn's acceptance speech for his Best Actor award for Milk, where he called out anyone who voted for California's Proposition 8, and told them that their grandchildren would be ashamed.  Burn.  Skip to 6:50 in the video, where Penn calls the audience a bunch of "commie homo-lovin' sons of guns."

The ceremony ended only a few minutes ago, so videos will be posted as they're available.  The other big winners of the night were Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight and Penelope Cruz for Vicky Cristina Barcelona.  But knowledge of these few choice moments will keep you in good stead around the water cooler.
