"Fright Night"  (1985)

In honor of the release of Twilight, which hits theaters on Friday and everybody is wetting themselves over, Spout.com has set up a tournament to determine the all-time greatest movie vampire.

Voting opens every day at 10 a.m. eastern time, through this friday.  Every day, the losers will be eliminated and the winners will advance in the brackets until the winner is announced.

The list of movie vampires is particularly rich, and the competition includes favorites from From Dusk til Dawn, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Blade, and Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Surely there are a few iconic vampires that didn't make the list, but Snarkorati has a great compilation of the Top 70 Vampire Movies for those who can't get enough of the undead stuff.

To vote in the contest, click here.

UPDATE:  Voting in the cagematch ends tomorrow, so make sure to click through and vote for your favorite.  The competition is down to Robert Pattinson (of Twilight) and Kate Beckinsale (of Underworld).
