Happy hour menu at Indebleu combines dinner and drinks

November 19, 9:54 PM
by Eduvirgen Peralta-Cruz, D.C. Restaurant Examiner

Across from the Verizon Center sits a cool, sleek establishment. The Indebleu Tantra Lounge fuses contemporary style with the ethnic elegance of Indian culture. In all honesty, it wasn't apparent to me until after I ordered my cosmopolitan (very Carrie Bradshaw) and requested a happy hour menu. It was there that I noticed the somewhat unique cuisine and the subtle salute to heritage; the naan pizza, samosas, and lamb immediately captured my attention, appetite, and adoration.

And I'm sure it will do the same to you.

The lamb naan pizza was delicious and everything you could expect from fusion food; it was ethnic tasting enough to satisfy those seeking an Indian flare to their dish, but familiar in both presentation and style to please. Right behind this dish were the samosas that were brilliantly flavorful and appropriately bite size for happy hour. Success!

So don't be the last to dine and dance at the latest D.C. hot spot. If you're looking for a place that pays homage to India through vibrant tones that blend rich colors like oranges and dark blues, then make your way to Indebleu.

Buyer beware: Indebleu suffers chronically from limited seating. It's all part of the appeal.
