Michael Jackson's collectibles - What should you buy?
Unless you are living under a rock somewhere, you have heard about the untimely death of "The King Of Pop" Michael Jackson. And if you are a fan, you may be scrambling to find some collectible items to have to remember him by. Stop yourself! Now!
Due to his fame and sudden death, the prices for these items are much higher than this time last month. And many of these items are not what you would classify as a true collectible. But if you just must buy something and you want it to be a collectible, here are a few suggestions.
Anything Autographed
This must be something that an authorized authenicator issues a certification. Buyer beware for even the certifications can be forged. Double check with the authentication service to make sure they actually did the work. Make sure the service is legit as well.
Unusual articles
Go for the dolls, the toys, the pinback buttons, unused ticket stubs and the like.
Vintage is best
The older items are really the best. And condition of these items are very important. Don't buy just because it is old. Vintage T-Shirts are always hot.
His Music
Michael Jackson was all about music. Those close to him say he was happiest in studio singing. What better way to remember him than with some of his music?
His older hits on Vinyl is a great way to experence his love of music. Of course the early recordings on Motown and with the Jackson 5, Paul McCartney, etc are probably the better collectibles. His CDs are also available, and you can still find some DVDs. Of course some of his music is available for downloads.
But personally, I will remember Michael the way I feel he would want to be remembered. By playing and enjoying his music. So go ahead an buy that copy of Thriller that you really always wanted, but just be sure to play it...That is why Michael recorded it, for people to hear the songs, feel the beat, dance to the music,... he did not record it for you to just look at the cover.
